ALC Fes Student Wins National Public Speaking Club Contest

ALC Fes student Ihssane Nejjari won the All-ALC National Public Speaking Club Contest, “Voices for Change,” for her speech entitled “Bullying Is Sometimes Good.” The event took place in Casablanca on Saturday, February 12, 2022, against American Language Center students from around Morocco. Ihssane will receive a scholarship for one term’s full tuition at ALC Fes in recognition of her success. She was most recently enrolled in Advanced 4.

Ihssane previously won first place at the Regional ALC Public Speaking Club Contest against students from Meknes and Oujda on December 11 in Meknes. Another ALC Fes student, Douae El Masmouhi, Advanced 2, placed third.

ALC Fes English teacher Mohammed Ettaouass is the faculty leader of the Public Speaking Club. Anyone is welcome to join on Thursday afternoons at 5pm in Room 30. Email mettaouass@acamorocco.org for more information.

ALC Fes thanks Kamera Bracey and Chaimaa Mahmou-Werndli of ALC Mohammedia, as well as the US Embassy Morocco and the American Cultural Association, for their organization of these events in celebration of the Tangier Legation Bicentennial and the longstanding American-Moroccan relationship.
