Courses

ALC Fes offers six sessions throughout the year, from early September to the end of July.
ALC Fes is closed during the month of August.

Class sizes are limited to 16 students for Beginning Intro, Beginning 1, and all Juniors and Young Learners classes. All other classes have a maximum of 20 students.

YOUNG LEARNERS (Ages 7-10)

Courses for Young Learners are 60 hours and available during the following terms:

  • Fall + Winter + Spring (20 hours each session)
  • FIRST YEAR SECOND YEAR THIRD YEAR FOURTH YEAR

    Young Learners courses use National Geographic’s Our World, 2nd edition, Books 1-4.

    JUNIORS COURSES (Ages 11-14)

    Courses for Juniors are 60 hours and available during the following combination of sessions :

    • Fall + Winter + Spring (20 hours each session)
    • Winter + Spring (30 hours each session)
    • June Intensive + July Intensive (30 hours each session, limited availability)

    ADULT COURSES (Ages 15 and above)

    Courses for Adults offer 30 hours of instruction and are available during three regular sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring) and three intensive sessions (June, July, September) per year.

    Schedule options during regular sessions:

    • Two 90-minute classes per week (Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Friday/Saturday)
    • One 3-hour class per week (Wednesday afternoon, Friday morning, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, or Saturday afternoon).

    Schedule options during intensive sessions:

    • Fifteen 2-hour classes for 15 days (Mon-Fri, or Mon-Sat)

    CONVERSATION CLASSES

    • 15 hours per session
    • This class focuses on having normal conversations and interacting with a variety of topics. Students have the opportunity to build and develop fluency, improve their accent, and learn communication skills in a more informal and relaxed environment.

    COURSES FOR PROFESSIONALS (AGES 18 AND ABOVE)

    • English for International Relations & Diplomacy
    • This class offers specialized training on international matters. It focuses on specific language used for diplomacy and politics. It provides training on how to communicate in formal political settings such as the United Nations.

    • Business English
    • This class equips students to thrive in the business world. It focuses on specialized vocabulary, preparing for interviews, how to speak and communicate like a business professional, and how to engage successfully in various business environments.

    ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES

    • English for Tourism
    • This class helps equip students to thrive in the tourism industry. It features specific language and training on how to work and serve in various professional tourism settings. It assists students in developing fluency and confidence by teaching them to speak and communicate like professionals.

    • TOEFL Prep
    • This class helps students prepare for the TOEFL test and build the skills needed to communicate in English in an academic environment. This class features in-depth lessons and activities across the four skills — Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing — as well as assessments and feedback to help students evaluate their performances.

    PRIVATE CLASSES

    • Individual or small group instruction is available at any time

    ONLINE CLASSES

    • Online classes available as private or group instruction
