The English Teaching Internship Initiative (ETII) began as an offshoot of the ALC’s Community Service Club in 2015. Since then, ETII has grown into a national community service and hands-on teacher training program that seeks to expand the quality, reach, and accessibility of English language education in Morocco. Run out of regional American ALCs by ALC teachers, ETII targets two main groups: First, university students and recent university graduates interested in gaining initial classroom teaching experience, and second, underserved Moroccan youth in state-run Ministry of Handicraft Centers and Entraide Nationale-affiliated associations.
ETII provides them with teacher training, pedagogical know-how and professional experience in teaching English. After completing their training, the selected trainees are dispatched to different handicraft and entraide centers to teach basic English to artisans, graduates and apprentices.
This is a free, high-quality 60-70 hour course in English language pedagogy and professional development.
ETII opens its application process in July every year. Applicants must submit a CV, cover letter, and university transcripts to etii-fes@acamorocco.org.
Successful ETII applicants typically:
While preference is given to 2nd year MA students, we gladly welcome applicants with only a BA.
